WHO WE ARE

Hope Homes is a nonprofit dedicated to ending youth homelessness by providing housing and support services to some of the most vulnerable young people—those who have aged out of foster care. Many of these youth struggle once they leave the foster system: about 20–25% become homeless within a few years of emancipation.

Who We Serve

Every year, thousands of young adults age out of the foster care system with no permanent family, income, or support system.
Within 18 months, up to 40% will experience homelessness. Hope Homes steps into that gap—offering transitional housing, mentorship, and resources tailored to help youth not just survive, but thrive.

Our Story

In 2024, Joel and Alynna Weimer set out to come alongside those already working to support youth aging out of foster care. Through many conversations with leaders, advocates, and organizations, they were inspired by the efforts already underway—but also became increasingly aware of a gap that still remained: the need for more safe, affordable transitional housing for this vulnerable population.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, they felt called to add to it—to be one more piece of the solution in a deeply complex system. Hope Homes was born from that place of conviction, collaboration, and care.

With Joel’s 20+ years of construction experience and Alynna’s background in CASA advocacy and nonprofit work, they began exploring how their skills could be used to serve this need in a meaningful way. What started as a seed of an idea grew through countless conversations, sketches, and prayers. In June of 2025, they felt a clear nudge—a stirring they couldn’t ignore—and chose to take a leap of faith, going all in to bring Hope Homes to life.

Backed by the support of others in the field and a deep sense of calling, Joel and Alynna began building Hope Homes—one step, one connection, and one conversation at a time. They’re grateful you’re here and honored that you’d want to be part of this journey too.
